Mom Groups?

I have a 4 month old daughter who I would like to take to some mom groups, but it seems that they are all on week days during the AM. As a working mom, I am not able to attend these. Do you know if there are local groups that meet on the weekends?

I don't know of any Mom Groups, however you can try going to "My Gym". It is located in Rosedale and they have classes for little ones.

I don't know of a mom group that meets solely on the weekends. A couple of the groups in town I think have occasional weekend gatherings. Here is some information on various group. Also, like Melanie said check out mygym. It's perfect for a 4 month old. I would also recommend keeping an eye on our event calendar. There are random events throughout the city to keep you busy on the weekend. Also believe it or not.... Starbucks or any restaurant or coffee house is a great way to meet other moms!

Lastly, this network is a great place to make friends. You can make friends online (search for members) develop a virtual relationship, then meet in person! Good luck. I hope these suggestions help!

Thanks ladies! I did check out My Gym and they offer Saturday classes for kids her age, but it goes up to 18mths and the lady didn't think it would be as beneficial to her as one of the week day classes.

I'm a member of two groups on meetup.com one is the bakersfield playgroup and the other is Bakersfield Stay At Home Moms... I am a stay at home mom but it's hard for me to get out during the day. These groups try to make it possible for everyone to meet up.

Josie~ I checked on the Bakersfield Playgroup, but it lists that it is for moms of preschool age children...are there younger children as well?

I'm familiar with the Bakersfield Playgroup and I can tell you there are children of various ages. From pregnant moms to infants to toddlers and up. Sign-up and check out the calendar. :)

I tried the My Gym class on Saturday...it was a fun place, but there definitely were not kids there her own age. Most of them were sufficient walkers and Kelly is only 4mos (barely crawling). When she gets older, definitely, but not right now.

We have a kids and parents yoga class that meets on Thursdays at 5:30 in the Southwest that would be after work and accomodates infants. www.yogalinksbakersfield.com

check out this site....its where i got started with mommy groups but i didnt stick around long only because i work so much but this is where i met tracy and a lot of other great moms and even found out about momeconnect



ps check out my kids yoga class on thursday evenings at yoga links 4200 stockdale hwy (cornder of stockdale hwy and white ln next to in shape) starts at 5:30pm!!!!!

like you i have a young daughter, she is 6 month and i also work, i used to go to a mommy and me meeting but it was during am, so i had to stop attentding. did u find a group that gets together in the pm>??? i was looking into stroller fit, some kind of group where moms get together with their kids, and while they play, hang out, also exercise, but i couldn't find it in bakersfield :(
