- Introduction:
- I am a wife, a mother, a daughter and a sister. And somehow I'm surviving having 3 nearly grown kids. What I've learned is that mothering is a full-time job and that teenagers are a joy.
If you want to raise wonderful teenagers, then you must be willing to sacrifice sleep, sanity, and having your own life; you must be unapologetic in spying and manipulation; you must let them know that until they pay the rent and buy their own essentials (you know-- food, electricity, health insurance), then they aren't "adults," nor do they have any rights.
When you realize that YOU are the parent and NOT the friend, then you will have what it takes to raise happy, respectful teenagers.
About me!
I have 3 kids--ages 20, 17, and 15. So, I guess you could say that I'm probably a veteran mommy on this site! I have had a great experience raising my kids, and I can tell you that teenagers aren't nearly as bad as people try to make you believe! They are SO much fun (and a lot less work when they can drive themselves!). I have always been a very strict mom, so if you want my advice in disciplining, send me a message. If not...don't ask. :) I have 3 great teens who have given us no trouble, are respectful, and who are home on weekends. They know who's boss and they get along with us and with each other. They don't talk back (yes, believe it!).
