About me!
I am the proud (very proud) editor of The Northwest Voice and The Southwest Voice newspaper/magazines in Bakersfield, California. We are a community publication almost entirely comprised of contributions by the people living in niche communities in Bakersfield.
I have 3 kids--ages 18, 16, and 14. So, I guess you could say that I'm probably a veteran mommy on this site! I have had a great experience raising my kids, and I can tell you that teenagers aren't nearly as bad as people try to make you believe! They are SO much fun (and a lot less work when they can drive themselves!). I have always been a very strict mom, so if you want my advice in disciplining, send me a message. If not...don't ask. :) I have 3 great teens who have given us no trouble, are respectful, and who are home on weekends. They know who's boss and they get along with us and with each other. They don't talk back (yes, believe it!).
Before I was an editor, I was (and am!) a writer. Here are some links to stories I've written about motherhood... enjoy!
