- Hi Melissa. Thank you for sending me a note. My husband, kids and I will be moving to Bakersfield around late February, early March of 2009. We have never been to Bakersfield, let along California, so eveyrthing is completely new to us. I guess to start with, what is a good area of town to look for a house? My husband will be commuting to Lost Hills everyday. We want something safe with a good community. And of course I want to get involved with some playgroups for my kids. My daughter will be 21 months and in need of a playgroup. Ok. I think that's enough for now. Looking forward to getting to know you!
