Your best bet might be to hire a sitter that can give your babies the one on one you are looking for. As far as the child care being expensive, all I can say is you get what you pay for. Quality child care providers have to charge a good rate beca...
Hi my name is Melissa and I hope I can help you out! I have been a licensed provider for over 7 years before closing down in Dec. 07. I am in the process of re-opening and am a member of a licensed child care group. What you are looking for might ...

Hey, we have started a myspace page and cafe mom page for Licensed providers in Bakersfield. We are also planning to have a meet up once a month. You should come and join. www.myspace.com/bkfldchildcareproviders and the cafemom page is Bakersfield Licensed Child Care Providers. I hope everything is well with you and your family.
Hi Melissa. Thank you so much for writing me. My husband, kids and I plan to make our debut in Bakersfield around late February, early March. I guess to start with, I'd really like to get some information about good places to look for houses...good neighborhoods, safe, nice community. I'd also like to get info on some playgroups, playdates, and other venues available for me and my daughter. She will be 21 months when we arrive. We'll have to set up a time to go dirtbiking too. My husband is dying to get out there! Chat at you soon.
It was nice meeting you Friday night. Good luck on restarting your daycare. I really enjoy meeting and talking with other daycare providers. Jennifer and I were talking about trying to start a daycare provider group that meets up for dinner once a month, just to get to know other providers and to have a chance to relax and have adult conversation. :)

Melissa - I have a question for you, if you wouldn't mind answering. I noticed from your last post that you have stopped running your daycare. I see below you moved from Fresno (that's where I grew up!) - was it because of the move? or because you are now pregnant? The reason I ask is in an effort to figure out a way to stay home with my little guy, I have started looking into opening a home daycare. Is this something you would recommend to a new mommy? I'm a little hesitant just because I don't have much information. Would you recommend I go to the orientation just to see what all is involved? Just looking for an opinion. Thanks for any advice or stories from your experience you could offer!
My husbend and i moved here for work, and right now we're staying at his mom's, off brookside drive. I think it's great that we're talking cause my husbend and i both ride quads, and chris loves working on cars. right now he does have a project car, a 1973 chevy nova, and anything with engines is his thing, so alexis is gonna definitly gonna know her stuff, i'm still learning the engine thing. Chris is working now in the oil fields, for a compainy named Ensign. oh and the age thing, i'm 19 and chris is 18. but thankfully chris is mature for his age. my sister eleanor is 18 and she has a 10 month old daughter named loraine, but her and her "hubby" aren't married yet. Right now i'm usually at home doin homework for my school. and i help my mother-in-law with her work, cause she the excutive director for right to life of kern county, so i'm her new secritary. i live right down the street from mercy hospital, so i'll most likely have to go there, and it helps cause chris's cousin melissa works in the pediatics center there. oh and don't worrie at all about talking to much, cause i'm the same way! if u havn't already figured that out...lol well i hope to hear from u soon, take care and be safe!

oh and on the hospital thing, i'm not sure now, cause i was planning on going to fresno community, where i was born, but we moved down here, so that one's unknown at the time.
I that's a cool thing, havin the same initals. Chris , his mom and i all have the same first and last inital now, C & E. which is a bit funny. My husbend and i both wanted a boy, and we were planning on naming him Michael Scott, but we had Alexis Nichol if it was a girl. i pretty much had the names pick out before, and my husbend liked them. And come to find out... it's a girl, which i think now is y i couldn't come to grips with the fact of, i'm gonna have a baby, for so long. But my husbend didn't care at all, he just wanted the child to be healthy, no matter what it was. And now he can't wait to teach her to ride quads, and play with cars. And he wants to hold her.lol, we're hoping she'll be more of a tom-boy(like me) then a girlie- girl(like both our moms). so, u guys r moving, i hope u will not be doing any lifting, cause that can make cash come sooner, but then again,u might not have to worrie about him, cause boys usually like to be late. * on a side note, i like the fact that it seems like u and i get along, and it's nice having some one to talk to, cause chris works all the time, and i tend to end up home alone, so yea.*
well i hope to hear from u. take care, and be safe.

I am a stay at home mother to a wonderful nine month old! My great husband and I have been married since October 2007. I ran a licensed in home child care in my home for 7 years until I got pregnant and I am currently in the process of re-opening! I love my life and we enjoy lots of time outdoors camping, traveling, and quading!
