Thank you so much for the information!!! Andrew is truly borderline so to speak. He KNOWS what he's doing just chooses to do different. AND just like you said... we try to use "positive" and "negative" versus bad and so forth. The school however has been completely unsupportive which from his counselor we were assured we'd get the support we needed from them. Little did we know, the teacher he was assigned to that year didn't care what the rules and requests were.
He's not violent. There was a time at the beginning of the school year but once we changed meds (from Strattera to Concerta) it stopped. However, I think the constant disappointed adults have triggered depression. So we are seeking information from his physician in that respect.
We tried the visual recognition but it only worked for a short time. There was a point tho, where we removed everything "fun" from his room. He was left with old sheets and white walls. He had to earn back what he felt was important to him. THAT worked. Now it's just a lot of depression and not caring...
It truly is disappointing to know that the only community assistance there is is only available after they have screwed up so bad that they need juvenile hall or even camp owens. It's sad that there isn't anything out there to "cut it off at the pass".

Thanks for tolerating my rambling.
