I didn't use a doula, but I went to Dr. Edwards at Mercy Southwest. The doctor group is huge (about 10-15 doctors and CNP) and they can usually get you in if it is something urgent, especially for prenatal visits. The wait time in the wait...

HI I saw your discussion on mommy groups. I am in the Bakersfield Playgroup through meetup.com and I usually attend with only with my 5 month old daughter Susanna (10/24/08) - I saw that your baby was born in Octber 2008 too! The Bakersfield Playgroup is great- there are always different things to do - even evenings and weekends!

My younger brother who is mentally challenged was seeing her up until he turned 18. And he adores her to death! Which is saying something as he isn't really one of those go getter type of people. Hehe.
So if you haven't figured one out, look her up. She accepts most insurances, especially Medi-Cal, either Kern Family or Health Net.

- Hi Rhonda, mi ped is Klupsteen, an also Bogal, they both really nice, they have their office on san dimas street, across memorial. i like it there, because the waiting time is always less than 30 min. also a couple of times i called for questions, and the nurse or the doctor got back to me in a couple of minutes. i also delivery on mercy southwest and she went there to release my son.

How quickly the time flies...
I can't believe Kelly will be 5 months next Tuesday. It seems like just yesterday she was fitting into the teeny tiny preemie diapers and newborn clothes! Now she's laughing (and making us laugh!), scooting, and definitely having her own personality. Before I know it, we'll be celebrating her 1 year old birthday! It's crazy.
